Latest News LA Opera's DVD recording of Kurt Weill's Mahagonny won two classical grammys at the 51st Grammy Awards: Best classical album and best opera recording (categories 98 and 100). Roles in new productions this spring include Kardinal von Lothringen in Palestrina (production: Christian Stückl), Gubetta in Lucrezia Borgia (production: Christof Loy) and Colline in La bohème (production: Tim Ocel). Steven Humes recently made his role debuts of Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin and Pistola in Falstaff and was heard singing Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Wagner in Dr. Faust and Wurm in Luisa Miller at the Staatsoper in Munich, Germany. Recent new productions include Turandot with Atlanta Opera, Idomeneo in Munich's Cuvilliés Theater, Dr Faust and Ariadne auf Naxos with the Munich Staatsoper.
